A reminder of the "Group Decision-Making" one-day event on Sun Nov 8. To register, go to Course Registrations.
  • Whether it is a team at work, a family at home, or just different desires within yourself, finding a solution that works for all can be challenging.
And the costs of not finding such a solution can be high.
  • In this session, Glenda shares a simple process that she has used with consistently satisyfing results with individual coaching clients, and in her work as the leader of the international NVC Global Community Circle.
  • The best part is that you will be able to start using it right away.
  • Requested Background: 2 days NVC training or equivalent
Suggested Preparation: Bring a decision that you are having difficulty making.
Questions can be emailed to connect [at] compassionatehonesty.com

Oct 2009
We have very much enjoyed the first two events of this year, on Thurs Oct 1 and Fri Oct 2.
  • This Thurs Oct 8 - 7:30-9:30 pm is the first Empathy Connection evening. An opportunity for you to receive support to handle a challenging situation in your life.
And there are already some changes to our fall schedule:
  • We're looking to schedule the NVC for Couples series on an evening that works for all those who would like to participate.
If you are interested, please email us by this Friday Oct 9 with the evening(s) that would work for you. We're planning on starting the series the week of Oct 19. Sessions will happen every other week.

  • Glenda is shifting her "Group Decision-Making" one-day event to Sun Nov 8 to support people who would like to attend both it and the Restorative Circles training on Nov 14-15. See Workshops for more information.

Sept 2009
For me (Glenda) there are multiple exciting developments in my sharing of NVC this fall:
  • Teaching the heart of NVC, beyond the form - some of the "aha's!" that come from years of practice and the opportunity to connect with some of the top NVC practitioners through my work with the Center for Nonviolent Communication. This will be the feature of two of my offerings this fall:
    • Fri Oct 2 - International Day of Nonviolence empathic connection session. See Fri Oct 2 for details.
    • Empathy Connection - a four-session experiential series to deepen our connection to self and others. See Thurs Oct 8

  • Co-leading an NVC for Couples series with my life partner, John Stevens. This will allow each person in a couple to receive empathic support separately, before coming together to discuss challenging issues. I'm excited to be co-leading with John again! See Mon Oct 5

  • Collaborating with Henry Wai, the other CNVC-Certified Trainer here in Toronto, by taking turns to offer the following sessions. See Workshops for more information on each of these sessions.
    • Free Monthly Introductions to NVC
      • Thurs Oct 1 - 7-9:45 pm - Glenda at 245 Carlaw Ave.
      • Sat Nov 21 - 10 am - 12:30 pm - Henry at 495 Oriole Parkway
      • Thurs Jan 14 - 7-9:45 pm - Glenda at 245 Carlaw Ave.
    • Monthly One-Day "Deepening" Workshops
      • Sun Oct 18, 10 am-5 pm - "Presence and Connecting with Others" - Henry in Downtown Toronto
      • Sat Nov 14, 10 am-5 pm - "Easier Group Decision-Making with NVC" - Glenda at 245 Carlaw

  • "Making YOUR Life More Wonderful in 2010", a new series in the new year, will provide an opportunity to share an integration of learnings from a wide variety of fields about what makes us truly happy (a field of passionate exploration for me since the age of 18). See Sat Jan 16 for more information on the first session.

  • Self-study - updated links As of Sept 19, out-of-date links to the previous CNVC website have been updated with the latest information. You may discover some great new resources here!

May 2009
After three years of intense involvement with the NVC community internationally, Glenda is looking forward to spending more time offering training here in Toronto, starting with a group session in June.

June 2008
Glenda has been asked to take on two roles for the international Center for Nonviolent Communication - Communication Coordinator and leader of the Global Community Circle (GCC). She feels honoured to have the opportunity to serve the international NVC community in this way, and looks forward to meeting her GCC colleagues in Budapest, Hungary in August.

Summer 2007
As part of her work to share and integrate NVC and sociocracy, Glenda has begun serving as consultant to the international Center for Nonviolent Communication's Global Community Circle, and with the Hawaii NVC organization. She looks forward to co-leading a retreat for Hawaii NVC on Maui with Mary Mackenzie in September 2007, in addition to ongoing teleconference support.

Fall 2006
Glenda has recently taken on the role of trainer and head of Product Development Services for a Maryland-based consulting firm that provides consulting, training and facilitation in a process for supporting the work of groups of people working toward a common aim. This process has been developed, tested and refined for over 40 years in Holland.

She is delighted to have found a set of tools for group decision-making that are completely in alignment with the tools and consciousness of Compassionate Honesty. And she is even busier than ever, with events scheduled in Santa Barbara, California; Denver, Colorado; Findhorn, Scotland; and Washington, DC! As a result, she has had to reduce her one-on-one coaching hours.

January 2006
Glenda was honoured to be welcomed into the international community of CNVC-Certified Trainers, after three years of intense study, practice and teaching, culminating in a day-long final assessment on Bainbridge Island, Washington. She is very grateful for the support of all her teachers and mentors, including John Stevens and the founder of NVC, Marshall Rosenberg.

Fall 2005
There have been a variety of updates since June 2004, including NVC by Example.
See Learn by Example on the Self Study page for details on that one.

June 25/2004
Quite frankly - it's all new! Our first priority was to create the www.NVCToronto.org website to summarize all NVC-related events in the Toronto area. That was accomplished back in March.

But we knew we also wanted to create something to try and express our passion and vision of the kind of world we can create through the living of this process developed by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, which he calls "Nonviolent Communication".

This website doesn't realize that vision... and it's a start!
Stay tuned for more richness around the vision.
