About Glenda
I am honoured to have been welcomed into the community of Certified NVC Trainers in January 2006.
I would especially like to thank four groups of people for their support in this journey.
- All of the trainers from whom I have had the opportunity to learn.
- All of our students, who have taught and inspired me through their questions and their eagerness to find a more effective
and powerful way to create connection with people in their lives.
- Marshall Rosenberg, the originator of this work, for articulating these tools with such simplicity and clarity.
And for the ongoing inspiration of his living and modelling of this work.
- My partner, John Stevens, for his compassion, feedback, inspiration, and partnership in my ongoing journey to learn
to live and communicate in this way.
My work as a Life Coach began with supporting people in valuing and appreciating themselves.
I believed then, and I still believe, this is the foundation for our being able to connect with others
in the way we would like.
I used to believe this was all that was required - that if we were compassionate with ourselves,
we would automatically communicate with others in ways that would contribute to understanding and
connection between us. I've learned, both in my own relationships as well as those of my clients,
that this is not true.
The gift of Marshall's work and Compassionate Honesty
is that it shows me where to focus my attention in ways that contribute to greater connection and
understanding, both with myself and with others. And it has done the same for my clients and for
people in our workshops.

About John
All my life I have been fascinated by communities of people seeking to tell one another the truth.
One early profound experience of this was being in community with a couple who, throughout the breakup
of their relationship, sought to stay connected and keep speaking the truth to one another.
I have worked with a variety of tools and processes designed to support people in building connection
through sharing their truth. And no other process has done this as effectively and powerfully as
Compassionate Communication.
My dream is to build a community of people, here in Toronto and around the world, who are seeking
to use this way of understanding, communicating and connecting.
Together we will support one another in bringing compassion to ourselves, to our relationships, and
to our world.

About Us
We discovered this work in February 2003, and have been practicing using it
intensively and extensively since then (we both live and work in a one-room loft that
John sometimes calls "The Crucible").
We are registered as candidates in the Certified NVC Trainer program. As part of
our training we have attended several workshops, including a 9-day International Intensive
Training in Rochester, New York in June 2003 at which we had the opportunity to
meet and work with Dr. Marshall Rosenberg himself.
After 9 months of intense study and practice with one other and in our other
relationships, we began sharing the gift of Compassionate Honesty with others,
in alignment with the requirements for candidates in the Certification Program. We
feel grateful for the feedback from our participants that lets us know that our
needs for contribution and effectiveness have been met.
And we were deeply honoured to receive confirmation of this from some the world's
most respected trainers, when we presented some of our original workshop material
at a training event in Arizona in March.
We look forward to a life-long journey of deepening and enriching our ability
to both live and teach this process. And we celebrate how far we have been able to
come with the support of many mentors who have helped us meet our needs for learning and growth.
These include Marshall Rosenberg, Robert Gonzales,
Duke Duscherer, Rita Herzog, Miki Kashtan, Wes Taylor, Towe Widstrand, Susan Skye,
Rachelle Lamb, Nini Burgess, Mark Feinknopf, Emily Agnew, and every person we have
had the privilege to meet at a training.

About Money
We seek the abundance and ease of a simple lifestyle.
And it takes a certain amount of money to "bloom where we are planted" - to
offer the gift of Compassionate Honesty and meet our needs for physical
and emotional well-being.
Therefore, we price our workshops and other offerings at a level that we believe will
eventually enable us to do this work
full time, because we believe it is the greatest
contribution we can make. We believe our world is longing for
the peace, connection and mutual understanding this process provides.
And we believe we are called to share it with the people, organizations and communities around us.
At the same time, it is very important to us that no one is denied access to the benefits
of this work for financial reasons. If you wish to participate in an event and cannot
afford the entire fee we are requesting, please contact us. Together with you, we will
seek to find ways to meet all our needs.
And if you have been blessed with financial abundance, would it meet your need for
contribution to provide funding for a single mother, or someone out out of work
to attend a workshop and/or a practice group
so that they can communicate more compassionately and effectively with their children
and potential employers?
